
Now I must admit that the shot is a bit different to the normal standard class offering and it probably suffers a bit from a lack of context. On the other hand I did call it "Closed Circuit Sushi" which was meant to give a strong hint that it was a picture of a sushi bar on a tv screen, but the judge just said he didn't get it and gave me one of the lowest marks of the night. He even suggested that I should aim to reduce the lines on the picture, so I am pretty sure that he thought I added them somehow. I still rather like the shot but now I am not sure if it is just because I associate pleasant memories with it. I like the sense of looking in at a closed world, mediated through another medium, and the fact that the interaction of the camera with the screen can give unpredictable results.
