A simple shot of a bottle in a pool on Reading station. Both the bottle and the reflection of a pole are on thirds and I like the way they subdivide the photo so that the upper left implies an enclosed cloud reflection.

Sweet wrapper on a playing field. Went for an extreme edge here in recognition of the grungy nature of the subject matter. The whole thing is slightly irritating!

In this last example I wanted to try placing a point centrally. In the case of the eye, here from a poster, placing it in the centre seems to make the gaze very direct, which I like. It is probably something to do with the fact that it is an eye rather than something inanimate, since as humans we look to make eye contact at every opportunity, which would make the eye centrally placed in our normal experience. It seems to me to place it off centre to any great degree would look artificial.
